(Wetland Birds)
- Kanaha Pond
From the Kahului Airport, take Keolani Place Road (380) West to intersection
with the Haleakala Highway (37); bear right on Hana Highway (36). The
Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary and parking lot is on the immediate
right just past the intersection.
- Kealia Pond
From Kahului Airport, take Keolani Place Road (380) West and South to junction
with the Mokulele Highway (350/311) and proceed South about 5 1/5 miles to
entrance to the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge on the right (about 1
mile before junction with the Kihei Road). Some access may be restricted
depending on the bird breeding season. Inquire at the headquarters building.
- Ke`anae Wetlands
From the Kahului airport, take the Hana Highway (36/360) 34 miles along a
winding road to the Ke`anae Peninsula turnoff, left. Proceed makai through
taro (kalo) farms and wetlands.
