    (Wetland Birds)

  1. Kanaha Pond
    From the Kahului Airport, take Keolani Place Road (380) West to intersection with the Haleakala Highway (37); bear right on Hana Highway (36). The Kanaha Pond State Wildlife Sanctuary and parking lot is on the immediate right just past the intersection.
     
  2. Kealia Pond
    From Kahului Airport, take Keolani Place Road (380) West and South to junction with the Mokulele Highway (350/311) and proceed South about 5 1/5 miles to entrance to the Kealia Pond National Wildlife Refuge on the right (about 1 mile before junction with the Kihei Road). Some access may be restricted depending on the bird breeding season. Inquire at the headquarters building.
     
  3. Ke`anae Wetlands
    From the Kahului airport, take the Hana Highway (36/360) 34 miles along a winding road to the Ke`anae Peninsula turnoff, left. Proceed makai through taro (kalo) farms and wetlands.
