- Peacock Flats (hiking and bicycling only)
From Farrington Highway (930), after passing Camp Mokuleia, turn left into 3rd
entrance to Dillingham Airfield. Proceed 0.4 miles to the parking lot, walk
mauka along the gravel road. Proceed through gate at fence. The trail (3.5
miles long) goes uphill to the Forest Reserve gate; Peacock Flats campground
(camping permit required) is just beyond.
- Makaha Valley
From Farrington Highway (93) in Makaha, take Makaha Valley Road to Ala Holo
Road to Huipu Drive to Mauna Olu; stop at guard shack to show drivers
license, car registration and proof of insurance (plus rental agreement if
car is rented), and sign liability waiver.
