(Marine Birds)
- Kilauea Point National Wildlife Refuge (NWR)
From Lihu`e, take Kuhio Highway (56) North and West to Kilauea Town. Bear right
past gas station, then take first left on Lighthouse Road. Proceed to
NWR. Open 7 days, 10 AM to 4 PM. There is a small charge.
- Waimea Canyon
From Lihu`e, drive West on Kaumuali`i Highway past towns of Puhi, Lawai,
Kalaheo and Hanapepe to Waimea Town (about 23 miles). Take 1st right after
Waimea Babtist Church on Waimea Canyon Drive (550), mauka.
- Na Pali Coast
From Lihu`e, take Kuhio Highway (56) North and West to town of Ha`ena and
proceed to end of road at Hae`na State Park, to trailhead West of Ke`e
Beach. The Kalalau Foot Trail (10.8 miles) ends at Kalalau Beach.
