- Koke`e State Park/Pihea Trail
From Lihu`e, drive West on Kaumuali`i Highway (50) past towns of Puhi, Lawai,
Kalaheo, Hanapepe and Waimea to Kekaha Town. Turn right on Koke`e Road
(552/550); proceed mauka through Waimea Canyon State Park to Koke`e State
Park. Continue on road past the Kalalau Lookout to the end of the road near
Pu`u o Kila Lookout. Bear right to the Pihea Trail.
- Kalalau Lookout
From Lihu`e, drive West on Kaumuali`i Highway (50) past towns of Puhi, Lawai,
Kalaheo, Hanapepe and Waimea to Kekaha Town. Turn right on Koke`e Road
(552/550); proceed mauka through Waimea Canyon State Park to Koke`e State
Park. Proceed about 2 miles past the Koke`e Lodge Camp/Museum almost to the end
of the road (550), turn left to lookout.
- Pu`u o Kila Overlook
From Lihu`e, drive West on Kaumuali`i Highway (50) past towns of Puhi, Lawai,
Kalaheo, Hanapepe and Waimea to Kekaha Town. Turn right on Koke`e Road
(552/550); proceed mauka through Waimea Canyon State Park to Koke`e State
Park. Proceed about 2 miles past the Koke`e Lodge Camp/Museum to the end of
the road (550), bear left on access to the overlook.
- Hule`ia National Wildlife Refuge (NWR)
In Lihu`e Town, take Kapuli Highway (51) South to Wilcox Road, past Nawiliwili
Harbor on Wa`apa road to Hulemalu Road to Menehune Fishpond Overlook. The
NWR is below and extends West along the Hule`ia River.
